I went to a great estate sale this weekend in Starkville and came away with a metal bulldog, vintage handmade sunhat, Italian yellow ceramic basket, Dansk paella pan to match my dutch oven, vegetable bag, enamel stainer, vintage butterfly tray, and two fantastic 60s movie posters from Starkville's old Rex Theater.

The Asian yard long beans (aka noodle beans, asparagus beans, and snake beans) were from the Columbus farmers' market.

trip to Noxubee Refuge

Today was the first truly beautiful day since we arrived, and we took advantage by spending most of it outside at Noxubee Refuge. Gators, herons, and egrets galore. And spiders. So many spiders.

goodbye, Piggly

Piggly Wiggly is not long for this world. Their boiled peanuts will be missed.
